Just brought my daughter a slvr l7 o2 branded and have now got her a 512mb mem card.

Everything is working fine except that mp3's stored on the card cannot be used as ringtones.

Is this the norm with all slvr or is it just some implementaion put on by o2 in its firmware.

to use as ringtones, you have to move the mp3 into the phone memory. highlight the mp3, then go to menu > move > phone memory

Doesnt work that way once youve selected it as a ringtone from the phones memory. Then move it to the memory card ringtone the ringtone changes back to the standard ringtone on the phone.

then just leave the ringtone on the phone

Although did find this on a user opinions and reveiw site can any voda branded l7 owners confirm this.

If this is the case then maybe it may be just be down to a seem edit

If u really want to make a MP3 become ur ringtone in Memory Card storage, u must flash it in Vodafone software.
So far this is the only s/w that can help u in this application
