convert mp3 to ringtones

Hello everyone
I am having problems finding a software to edit my mp3 to ringtones. I used to use wavepad (free version) but it won't save anymore. I don't know if it's a problem with the software or only because it's a free version. Is there any other free software?

do a search on download.cnet.com I think Audacity is free. I use adobe audition v1.5 It has a lot of cool filters and options which are a lot better than the ringtone maker that comes with MPT.
