Just asking opinions,
What does everyone think.
Whould you rather have a Sony P800 or a Nokia 3650?
Thanks,

Forgetting the multitude of features the P800 has over the 3650, which would you rather use for complex input. like writing a nice letter, with formatting -- natural handwriting on a touch screen, or pecking for letters on a circular keypad???

Nuff said ....

I would go for P800, much more professionals, with full PDA functions, big touchscreen is all I want..........while 3650 is targets at youth with its sort of nokia trendy design (with ugly circular keypad, its much longer than P800 is length). P800 for me !

I can't say more then what Jeff has said...Until you use a P800, you really don't know what you're missing...Fearing that the production of the P800 will move to the Far East, I have bought a second unit just in case anything happens to the one I'm using...Yes, its really this good...

This has nothing to do with the Nokia 3650 but I read it in a magazine and want to share it...

From UK based What Mobile...

After giving the Nokia 7650 an excellence award this is what they said...

"But with the price edging down all the time, the 7650 could be a great buy for unambitious users."

Thanks Jalal.

Listen -- when I first saw the P800 in the articles, what, 9 months ago, I really was not impressed, as it looked like a big fat phone. Then I got my 3rd Compaq, the 3670, I think it was, with the bluetooth, when I had my T68i, and figured, "Okay, with Bluetooth, these 2 units will work nice, and why would I want to carry around that big, fat phone like the P800, when i had the tiny little T68i, and could optionally carry the iPaq. Then, I found myself spending a hell of a lot of time getting the 2 things to integrate well together. That's challenging when I am in my "tech-head" mode, and want to play. But, when I want to send faxes, and e-mails, and go to marginally easy enough web sites, and be productive in my busiiness travels, this solution proved futile.

Then I got the Clie NR70v, with the Bluetooth memory stick. OK, I though "This should be a tighter integration, since the Palm OS is much tighter than PPC." Well, that was another challenge.

Then I thought to buy a PPC phone, like the iPaq with the GSM/GPRS sleeve, since that was the only tri-band PPC. Well, my friend got that, and had nothing but troubles.

All those other solutions aside, when I got the P800, I received a phone that was much smaller than I had thought from the pictures, and, well, stylish enough. Certainly nice to hold. But, the integration of all ther functions CANNOT BE BEAT. It is a total communications solution.

The Nokia 3650, 7650, or the MS based smartphones without the touch screens, are not even in the same league as the P800.

I am so pleased with the P800, I sold all my Clies and iPaqs. The only thing I can't do, that I did a lot of with my other PDA's, is store videos to wathc, and MP3s. But that will come in not too far time with the P800

The only things I desire, are some apps, like MS word editing, which I am confident is coming soon. I also would like more video playback formats, and of course, the ONLY real usability downside of the P800, a BIGGER MEMORY STICK.

The only competition the P800 may have this year, is the Motorola Paragon II, and the still unnannounced successor to the Nokia communicator.

And as far as the larger size of the P800, I still have my T68i, if I want to use, and I plan to buy a Panasonic GD55, for REAL portability, for those nights out that you just want something small, and won't need your "Communication Warrior"

Motorola Paragon II...I have seen pictures of it but that's about it...

One thing I'd like on the P800 is to be able to receive faxes like you can on the Nokia 9110i or 9210i...

Hopefully more apps are coming and bigger memory Bluesticks...Are there bigger ones sold in Japan?...I might have a source to get them from...

Well, Jalal, firstly, you CAN receive faxes on the P800, if you subscribe to www.j2.com. The only problem, for the moment, is, that the SE provided TIF viewer on the P800 doesn't zoom in enough to view the fax page easily, and doesn't support multipage TIF's. But, I believe that will be solved when the first graphics viewers for P800 are released. On the upside, I still can receive the fax on my phone, and if it's not readable, using the same j2 service, I can instantaneously forward the fax from the P800 to a hard copy fax machine I am near, wherever I am.That is very convenient.

And no, 16MB duos are still the only one's available in Japan as of now.

Thank you for the info Jeff...I'll check the fax option out...

SE P800 because it is a multimedia device as well as business. However, I like the Nokia 3650 because of reception is more stable and I get more clear messages as why I can't make a call "SYSTEM BUSY" shows up instead of just hearing beeps on SE P800. The touch screen is very nice addition to the P800 email composing is much easier. I also find the P800 fits more comfortably in my pocket. However, for design I go for the Nokia 3650. The P800 advantage is built in MP3 player & HTML Browser.
