Backlight wont turn off while charging v635

whenever I charge my v635 the backlight stays on, even if i close the phone, the only option is to turn the phone off. I tried using my old v60 charger and then the backlight turns off as it should. I called moto and they decided to replace the phone and charger. Sent me a brand new phone and charger. It does exactly the same thing. Again using the v60 charge fixes the problem. Anyone else have the problem?

Yep. I had the same proble. My V635 completely crapped out on me like 5 months after I got it so I went back to rogers and they sent it to be fixed. It's been gone for almost 2 months and still don't know when I'm getting it back. I'm gettin pretty pissed off with them. A friend of mine sent his in to get fixed after 3 weeks and another friend bought the phone but his light turns off when he charges it.

Yea it was a big hassle with both Rogers and Moto the first time with the issue. No phone for weeks and then the new phone does the exact same thing. What I don't understand is why the light turns of with any other Moto charger, tried both a old v60 and a v551 charger. Do you think its the phone or the v635 chargers?

I have noticed that:

when I charge my v635 with the AC (home) OEM charger, the external screen does NOT stay on. All is normal.

when I charge my v635 with the DC (car) NON-OEM charger, the external screen STAYS on.

Only thing I can guess is this:

if the current is too high, that's an easy way to bleed it off...if the current is low or fine, then it keeps off...

can't really think of any other reason for the discrepancy.

it does it with my standard charger, with my slim travel charger ,the light is off.. its the charger design, not the phone
