Poor Signal on V551, V220 fine

My girlfriend and I share an apartment. She has a v551, and I have a v220, both with cingular. Her cell phone gets very poor reception (-105 to -100 accoding to FTS) while mine gets great reception (-65 to -60 according to FTS). Our phones don't seem to see any of the same cells (again, according to FTS), despite both being set up with automatic band selection, and both quad band. Anyone have any ideas what to try?
