0032 SEEM edit for voicemail on L6?

I just checked the L6 user manual and it has the options for voicemail icons...but the L6 I just bought my girlfriend (I think it's either Dutch/German originally - that was the default language and manual) ...still gets the weird ^@ voicemail icons...
Has anyone had issues with the L6 for T-mobile voicemail? If so, did the SEEM edit work?
If so, I might try it with her phone to see if it works.
