I suggest we use this thread to discuss ideas on how to overcome this problem. Let's not have any posts from people saying things like, "Oh yea, I have that problem too. How can I fix it?" Stuff like that is not going to help. If you have an idea on how to fix it, say your idea, try it out, and let us know what happened.
That being said, here's my first attempt.
I'm sure everyone who has v07, and uses Josh's Mod, has realized that the 8100 now re-write the 'my_ringtone.dat' file every time the phone re-boots. Someone else on the forums, who seemed quite up on things as far as the 8100, said he was going to get the v07 update and try a few things. One thing he'd said he was going to try, was to put a copy of the modded 'my_ringtone.dat' in the 'brew\16452\lk\mr\' folder to see if the phone would read it and thus solve the re-boot issue.
I'd just like to let everyone know that I've tried that, and that it hasn't worked. The phone re-booted, erased the modded 'my_ringtone.dat' from the 'dload' folder, and apparently didn't read the one that I had put in the 'brew\16452\lk\mr\' folder.
But I'm not yet defeated. I'm currently investigating each and every file on the phone to see where exactly the phone is getting the instruction to re-write the file each re-boot. I'll keep you all posted.
