Help an Old Telus Diehard make the switch to Bell!

Okay, here goes.

I'm sick of Telus. Plain and simple. I've been using their Pay and Talk service for years now, and I feel that the time is right to switch to a monthly plan. Problem is, the Telus plans suck, and the Telus phones suck.

Plus, there's no provision for unlimited mobile browsing, which is essential for me.

So, I'm eyeing the Samsung a920 on a 3 year term ($99 is hard price to beat!) with the Extreme $35 bundle, along with a FuelMe 15 and of course, Call Display, meaning a monthly bill of $55.

Here's why my questions start:
1. Exactly what taxes/hidden fees will be charged on top of this $55?

2. I live in Peterborough, Ontario, which is no where near EV-DO coverage. Will applications such as Mobile TV (included with FuelMe 15) work? How long can I expect, say, a CBC news clip to download?

3. When will Bell be bringing EV-DO to my neck of the woods?

4. Is there any way to waive the activation fee?

5. Does the Samsung a920 have a FM radio feature at all?

Thanks so much.

Cheers!
Jonathan

1. The only taxes on top of the 55 would be pst and gst, and of course you would be charged for any ld or overages above your plan's minutes.

2. Outside of evdo coverage the video clips are pretty annoying, usually buffers for about 30seconds, then plays for about 30, and so on, kinda hard to watch anything that way, but it is do-able. Of course in evdo coverage, it is awesome.

3. No idea on the build out, but I hope it happens quickly, no evdo here in Oshawa yet.

4. Depending on where you work, or any associations that you are a member of, you may be eligible for an EPP, these often have promotions whereby the activation fee is waived, try searching for EP1, I'm not sure if the plan is still available, but it is a pretty good one if you are eligible.

5. Haven't come across an FM feature on mine, but it may be there, wouldn't count on it tho.

Suggestion is get a Nokia 6225 or 6585 which is capable of viewing MobiTV (slow frame rate but LIVE not a Short Clip ) has built in FM radio & offers Superior RF, one of BELLS best ! You could get Unlimited WAP & MobiTV on Prepaid so take a Look ! Get a few extra batteries ($20- $25.oo) & avoid a Contract at this time !
$5.oo Unlimited WAP
$10.oo MobiTV
New NOKIA 6585 with Music stand for $8o.oo @ Future Shop! Sale Ends 01/31/06

No Contract No Problem & wait for EVDO to be Deployed in your area!
