question about hard reset on sidekick 2

on a sidekick 2, does a hard reset change the IMEI? if not, is there any way to change the IMEI on a sidekick 2? the reason i am asking this question is because i recently lost my sk2 and i have to resort to ebay for a new(used) one... just in case i buy a stolen phone, i want to change the imei before using it so i dont get into any trouble... any help is greatly appreciated!!! thanks in advance!!!

You cant change the IMEI of a device. Theyre guaranteed, by specifivation, to be unique, and changing one randomly is really bad.
If youre worried about buying a stolen one, ask the seller for the IMEI before you bid, and run it by t-mo. If the seller wont give you the IMEI then consider passing.
