Cricket and Kyocera KX160 via MMS

I sent my KX160 some MIDI ringtones that I edited down to under 30 secs and some new wallpaper via Cricket MMS. I sent an .MP3 file to it also, but couldn't apply it to be a ringtone, only a saved sound and it played fine.

Just use this below.

yournumber@mms.mycricket.com

Also, if you want to trim the MIDI file online, use this.

Thanks for the info, I just sent myself a .mp3 tone and saved it.

Okay, I feel like an idiot, but how exactly does this work? I tried sending myself a midi ringtone and it didn't work.

If you hear the MIDI tune in your text message to your phone. Hit OPTIONS and save it as a saved sound. Then goto the saved sounds section and APPLY that sound to a ringtone.

So I got my Xcursion KX160 recently and I have cricket service (the 45$ package), and I was wondering if you could provide some steps and instructions on HOW to send the midi ringtones, and wallpapers (i really want to send myself some wallpapers mainly). How do you use the "yournumber@mms.mycricket.com", do you do it through your e-mail or something? It's confusing me.

Thanks.

The 'yournumber@mms.mycricket.com' this is where you send the email to that has the attachment. You can send wallpaper or MIDI ringtones. Ringtones under 30 seconds and the grafix wallpaper needs to be resized for your display. Just look at the wallpaper that came with the phone and use that as a guide for the type and size of picture to use.

Sorry for the double post, but does transfering data (i.e. Wallpapers, midi's, etc.) through this method charge extra to my bill? I have unlimited long distance, local calls, text messages, and MMS messaging.

No charge. Your on the same plan as me. Incoming are normally free anyway. It's the outgoing you pay for, if your not subscribed to it.

So you have the 45$ plan aswell eh? and the same phone? and you are not getting charged extra? Then its the same for me, cool. Thanks for telling me about the mms.mycricket.com e-mail, saves a bunch on data cables and everything.

Hi, I did a search on google and stumbled upon this forum ,Anyhow I recently replaced my dying audiovox cdm810 cell with a Kyocera KX160 and im unable to send it .mid files (or any files) via email, I send the message to the usual ####@mms.mycricket.com but the phone never receives any messages at all..am I overlooking something? (Im able to send pictures etc. from the phone to my email address successfully), I used to send my Audiovox files all the time and I know im doing it the same way as usual...

Any ideas appreciated!
