Xm Radio Java App?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Has anyone thought of or wrote a java app for the i870 for XM radio?

With the widen it shouldn't be a problem right? All you'd need is an unlimited data plan so sprint doesn't rape you on your bill.

there is an app for smartphones. I'm still looking around for anything related to a Java-based version. The PocketXM client talked about in the article uses the Windows Media Player to stream....
If only the 930 had Bluetooth......

Anyone else have any input on this?

Anything else on this?

Yea, anyways got anything on this or even a FM Radio Java is cool

the only thing i have found are programs like "pocket xm" for smartphones. Sirius has an app that i have seen on Sprint's version of the RAZR (samsung)... & i don't think that's a smartphone... so it can be done. XM's stream is fairly slow, 32 kbs/s.

Know we just need a Java software engineer

xstreamxm.com lets you use your email and pass that you register on xmradio.com to listen online but xstreamxm.com is for ppc as the reg website doesn't work on ppc.

it auto opens wmedia player and pplays on that. suddenly it doesn't work anymore and has anew not saying you may have trouble streaming with wmobile5 but are working on it, so they must have changed something that now doesn't work with wm5 as it alwaysdid before and just didn't explain that.

Stop being a stern fanboy, you've got the wrong howardforums. Your post was a waste of space. Maybe you don't have an interest in an XM app, that doesn't mean that you should bash those of us who would enjoy it. That aside, as someone mentioned the Sirius program out there. I would imagine that it really shouldn't be hard for someone with a knowledge of java to modify it since the streams are probably very similar.

P.S. If you really want to see who is better, then vote and see the results for yourself... http://www.boston.com/business/pers...onalities?pg=17

its not java. its for windows media on a smartphone.

Posted by: NEXTELMEDIX

yeah, the problem is that XM streams in WMA, and xstreamxm streams in ASX... so a Windows Smartphone or WM5 will have no problem streaming it.

Sprint has what, 2 Sirius channels coming through the Media Player on the phones. And Alltel and Telus have just got XM added to their service. Maybe someone can hack a Telus/Alltel phone and get the app off of there??

Wirelessly posted (Motorola i730: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/2.0.4509/1378; en; U; ssr))

radio bee and j2mestreaming should work if your fone supports it. also alltel has xmradio app in j2me.

do xstreamxm.com and minixm.com still work
