Original N-Gage connection issue

I have an original N-gage and I have defined the Acces Point and all the details under Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access points. I then go to Media -> Services (I am assuming this is the built in browser as I can't find a different one) and try to connect out.

The program then tells me that I need to define an access point. I figure, ok, old firmware/software I will redefine the GPRS settings that I have. I go to Options -> settings -> default access point and switch it from none to a setup where I can then define the access point.

I fill in all the information again (this is for a T-mo USA Internet connection). Set the security as off, set the gateway, and set sesion mode to permanent. Now, the only choices I have to leave this screen are back and exit. If I back out of it, I don't get a box to save changes, and the default access point is still none. If I exit out, I don't get a box to save changes, and the default access point is still none. I don't have any option to choose the any of the Access Points I have set up under the original settings, so I am stuck.

This would all be a moot point if I could get Opera mini (or opera standard) on the phone, but I can't seem to get PC Suite to run correctly on the machine.

Any help would be nice. I already tried searching on HoFo and N-gage.com.I know its not a settings issue because the phone isn't giving me a connection error (like it can't find the specified access point) it is simply not saving any changes. If I hit back it goes to the screen that says there are no defined access points for the browser. If I hit exit I drop to the main menu system.

I have full internet (its now 29.98 a month, thanks for the hike tmobile) and I am simply trying to pull web pages, not connect to the arena.

I got it to work for a grand total of 10 minutes last night, which was enough time to download opera mini. I saved the file to the MMC, and lo and behold.. i don't have an icon for the installation. I couldn't redowload the program to the phone, and then I went off and tried to change the access point (I was using the WAP settings for t-mobile instead of the full internet settings) and then the access point decided to delete itself, and I am stuck at the exact same point again.

So to sum up. It is NOT a plan or connection issue. It seems to be software related (any hints, anyone gone through this?) The phone works fine in other areas, I just can't get online with it. Other programs see these access points fine (Virtual Radio for example) and can get out and use the GPRS just fine. I have had this phone and right now I think it was probably a mistake, but hompefully I will get over it. Again, thanks for any suggestions

well .. i can't believe that not a single person recognized my mistake. I also can't believe that it took me until I was setting the phone up to ship to its new home for me to get this.

The original N-gage (maybe it's my firmware version) for some reason wont let you define the default browser's access point. I managed to get Opera Mini on the phone, and it will reference the Access Points I manually created, but the default browser will never assign the Access Points if you create them through the wizard.

The settings I was using were from Nokia, so i figured they were right, but I wasn't doing the process correct. If you send yourself the configuration messages, then push in on the D-pad there is an option to set the settings as the Default Access point. Only then does the default browser say "Hey let's use that information that this guy setup" and proceeds to use the full internet.

Too little too late. The n-gage experiment is over, and I might right up a mini comparison so those buying the phone (s) know what they are getting into. Overall, though, I thought they were cool devices, but its long overdue for an upgrade.
