Bitpim isn't work with my computer

Manytime I have tried to install bitpim new version or old version. It isn't work with my computer (used windows XP SP2). I don't know what wrong with Bitpim program or my cpmputer. Please someone can help me. Because of I want to tranfer my ringtone. otherwise, I have cable and MiniSD card and card reader. I used LG VX8100

do you get an error message? or what happens when you connect your phone to your pc? Do you see your data cable displayed as a port in your settings? Did you turn OFF your phone before connecting to your PC and then turning it on, and then turning on bitpim, and then going to the file system tab and clicking on "+" sign. All your files should appear.

i did that and my phone still isnt connected
