ok. first of all, let me officially give the massive 2125 thread the rigid middle finger. 90% of people who come here from google looking for help aren't going to read it. i've read hours of it and i'm through with it.

second of all, THE QUESTIONS that everyone's been wanting to ask, but never realized it.

1. i want to be able to export sms messages to my sim or storage card. i know there's an option to IMPORT sim messages, but how do i go about exporting them?

2. another text question. how do i create a new folder (along with drafts, inbox, outbox, etc.)for my text messages if i wanted, say, an "old" folder, or a "saved" folder?

3. how do i assign custom !!TEXT!! ringers to contacts?

4. does anyone know the registry entry that i can modify to change it from saying "Cingular" on the homescreen just above the clock?

5. when i get a text message, there is no way to stop the text ringer, even if i open the message up. the only thing i have been able to do is place a call, in which case, the ringer transfers to just the earpiece. is this a bug or is there a way to stop the ringer (without just telling me to create a shorter ringer?)

My guess would be because all of the things you've listed aren't possible at the moment--meaning that it cannot be done "out of the box," and that software/hacks haven't been found that can do the things you've mentioned.

Get it unlocked and put a T-Mobile SIM in it. Or, if what I heard is correct, edit the XML file for the homescreen.
