how reliable are they? where can i buy this phone for a good price, like $700 or lower? i heard technoshop in Sweden has it for USD $770... and another place in chicago has it for $646, but i don't know if i can trust em...

here's the site

http://welectronics.com/gsm/ericssonp800.Shtml

you judge for yourself...

That place in Chicago doesnt have them in yet.

Posted by: digitalic

yes i know, i called em too, they told me call back next month...

THat place in Chicago is pre-sale only. No stock. Expansys expects them in 14 days in the States - www.expansys.us

What is the address of "technoshop"?

Posted by: digitalic

expansys.com last had the p800 listed for $1200 USD which is insane... i hope they list the p800 for a more reasonable price like $700-$800...

Yeah...Pricing for the "Import" version is a bit wacky. I am sure that in a couple weeks we will see them get cheaper.

Posted by: digitalic

whats the difference between the p800 and p800 (import)?

Posted by: ShovelhEd

That remains a great mystery to me....

Posted by: digitalic

i'd order from uaemall.com but they only do money transfer, not sure how that works... sigh... i wish they can do credit card orders...

Posted by: LostTexan

digitalic, who would you use it with?

Posted by: digitalic

i will be using my p800 with cingular

Posted by: LostTexan

Dont waste your money buying one until you're going to be able to use it. The price will probably fall below $500 before Cingular gets GSM in Houston.

LostTexan made a great point. A lot of people buy out of impulse and the "I'm the first one with this new gadget." I'm sure the price will drop fast. Look at the T68i... 450 bucks?!?! Now you can get a brand new one for around 250 or 99 bucks with new activation from at&t. Anyhow, when the price drops to 500 or so... that'll be cool!

Posted by: digitalic

the thing is im not gonna get a carrier locked phone, it will be unlocked, so of course it will be a lil more expensive than per say a $500 carrier locked phone...

Posted by: snoopy20

Does anybody know which carrier, if any, will be carrying the p800? I'm guessing At&t or Cingular first... T-Mobile is slow errr I mean special.
