(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey Guys,

I just recently got my Nokia 3390, and i wanna make it look kinda nice... so give me some decent ideas for face plates, flashing batteries, flashing keypads, and LED lights. I don't really want to spend a whole lot, so if you got something you think i might like to add to my phone post it (along with some pictures, if available) and if you got something nice that isn't to expensive, PM me with the details and i will definitly get back in touch with you.

Also if you have a modded 3390, post a picture, or PM me the picture so I can get some ideas off of it

Thanx

I know at Nokialight.com you can get LED's put for your phone. The prices there go from $24.98 to $34.98 depending on color(You can pay an extra $25 which will cover installation labor and return shipping of your phone). They have Ice Blue, Lava Red, Purple, Hyper White, and Blazing Orange. They also have flashing batteries, flashing keypads, LCD Inversion Film, Display Holograms, and a Signal Boosters.

I understand Nokialight does a great job and I'm considering sending my 3390 Gold out as well. I however am waiting to see what the new 3390 refresh model has to offer. I'm hoping we see a slightly improved backlighting. (maybe similar to the 8390 or 6590).

I'm a fan of black faceplates. I picked up a Nokia 'second skin' ebony black faceplate for my 3390 at faceoffshop.

Good luck with your customizations.

here's my 3390 gold....

there's some others here: http://www.homeshade.com/michael/phone

i don't use it anymore, got a new phone (t720i), but I still have it...

i want to sell it just to get rid of it cause i don't use it, but at the same time i really like it and don't want to get rid of it!

anyway, its unlocked, oem nokia faceplate, all blue led's, inserted a pic of my daughter behind the lcd which you can kinda see in the other pics, changed the operator logo, ringtones, etc, etc...... its really freakin bright, i can literally use it as a flashlight. never went with the flashing stuff though, thats just to much for me.

ego, how did you change the operator logo with tmobile

Posted by: mpallo

Good question! You must have an old Voicestream SIM card? I had a new EONS SIM and couldn't get it to change and just recently got a new Schlumberger SIM and still no luck.

I think the EONS (Enhanced Operator Naming Service?) can also be part of the phones firmware. Mine is a T-Mobile branded 3390 Gold. I do believe there are some 3390 Golds that are VS branded and may not have the EONS in the firmware.

I believe the combination of the EONS SIM and EONS firmware attribute to whether or not the OL can be overwritten.

I was able to change it with LogoManager after I got the unlock code from voicestream. it was still a task to get logomanager to recognize the phone, but once i figured out how to use it and all that, it was pretty simple.

have either of you obtained the unlock codes from tmobile? it should be quite easy to do and i would think that you'd be able to change it from that point.....with a data cable and logomanager of course.

actually, i was also able to use me43.com (when it was free) once or twice.

This is an issue that has been discussed in much debate on these boards. Whether the phone is locked or unlocked has nothing to do as to whether the operator logo can be overwritten. It has to do with the combination of the EONS SIM and EONS firmware.

My phone is in fact unlocked from T-Mobile.

yeah...well i don't know about the t-mobile sims. all i know is that i wasn't able to change it until i entered the unlock code from voicestream....prior to that it would accept the graphic, but wouldn't display it.

ego, in the second pic where it says your name and Vstream, is that a screensaver graphic.. ??

if not..how did you get your name on it.. it cant be a profile name cause its higher up.. ?!?

Posted by: eg0trip

ummm, well....good question. i haven't used the phone in a couple months or so, so my memory on it is a little scetchy, but my first response would be that its a profile name. but like you said it does look a little high to be a profile name.....so if its not that then it'd have to be part of the vstream stock Operator Logo. but i really want to say that it was just a profile name.

i know my profile names aren't bold, and the operator logo isn't big enough for 2 lines of text..

are you sure you didn't use a code or anything

yeah, i'm positive i didn't use a code to put my name on it, if anything i'd use a code to get my name off! haha

i'll check on my phone in a little while, i'll have to charge it for a bit since i haven't used it in a while.

personal opinion....inverting the screen looks like crap and theres no point of getting the screen leds changed if your gonna do that cause you can't see'em anyway.

and the conversion cases....the 7210 conversion cases that have come out recently make me want to go back to using my 3390. they look freakin sweet! i'm tempted to buy one just so it'll look nice sitting on my desk.

but to add on to 2003's list:
ringtones
graphics (op logos & screensavers)
keypads

thats about it.

Yea, all white 7210 convo looks really nice. I'll probably buy one next chance I get!
