LG VX9800 which usb cable?

I want to put ringtones on my phone. I figured out the editing software. But with the memcard reader i can only load flix pix and mp3s but no tones. Do i need a usb cable if so are the eBay ones okay or do i have to pay the big bucks and get a "future dial"? I just dont want to spend too much more money.
which one do you use?
