can I flash or flex a v3i file to a v3? My girlfriend thinks the D+G phone is really hot. I ain't spending that kind of cash on her.........

You can try flash "flex" but i don't now , does it work. If you try flash MP in V3 for V3i , you can have a big problems

It won't work.

Buy a v3i and monsterpack it with the D&G monsterpack, but the gold faceplates off www.cnn.cn and your all set.

Better yet. Screw the monsterpack and just upload this to the v3i:

This is everything that is included in the G&G version.

and IMO not worth the extrs $1,300.00 when you subtract the cost of the phone and faceplates.

I believe v3i to v3 (or vice-versa) flash/flex is not possible since the hardware is different .. v3i is LTE2 while v3 is LTE based .. their flash base address and codegroups are different ...

Why not do what was mentioned above ?

1 - Buy a V3i ( with iTunes if necessary )

2 - Hide it from her

3 - Buy the Gold Faceplate

4 - Load up the extras that were posted above by djdownhill

It really didnt take that long to figure that one out ...

I think that it is possibile.
After flashing load V3i's flex and you will have all features of the V3i in the V3 firmware

Ok ... here's why it is NOT possible : V3i flex address starts from 117C0000 while V3 flex address starts at 11140000 (just like E398) ... we can flex v3 flex into an e398 because of the similarity in hardware and flex start address (example : V398MP) but this is not possible for v3i.

So, it will definitely brick the phone unless we can flash the whole flashfile which is also not possible as the hardware is different (LTE2 vs LTE). Btw, the ramdownloader of a V3 starts at 03FD000 while V3i starts at 03FC8000.

V3 firmware region is from 10000000-12000000 but V3i is from 10000000-13000000 ... extra 1000000 bytes there .... grab some V3 and V3i flashes and extract using shxcodec .. you'll understand what I mean.

Please do not flex a v3i flex into a v3 unless you know how to fix it.
