None available as far as I know.

But it is based on SD RAM so a larger card capacity should work.

well when i went to go buy my mem card, i saw that they had 256, 512, and also 1 GB, i didnt ask to see the 1 GB because the costs was $100, so if im not mistaken there is a 1GB, im about %80 sure

Posted by: thefaceeater

there def is a 1gb that you can purchase.
but it says in the manual for this phone that it can only support up to 512 of memory

Posted by: SigPimpin

the moto v710 said that it could support up to 256 tf cards in the manual. however only 256 was available at the time and people have used the 512 cards w/ no problems. i'm assuming it's the same thing here. might also be done this way to not create a demand for a product that doesn't exist at the time of printing. just my hunch, i'm sure it'll work.

I don't see why it wouldn't work...

But, just to play devil's advocate: Hard drives larger than 138 GB can't be natively recognized by Windows XP, extra software is required. I don't think that it will be a problem, but I'm not sold enough to shell out the money on a gamble. Besides, 512MB is more than enough for now (for me, anyway).

Any update on this? 1GB cards are now readily available. Contacted Kyocera and was advised that:

"The Slider Remix only supports cards up to 512meg, cards over this size are not supported on the Slider Remix."

Not supported is not saying it won't work and I suspect it would not be a problem but it would be nice to know before I purchased one.

I got a 1gb card a week or two ago from Newegg, and it sort of worked. I plugged it in, formatted it, and went to the camera (I have it set to save camera images to the card), and it gave me a number in the range of 7000 pictures left. I took it out to add music to it, and Windows gave me a CRC error. I don't think it's related to the phone, but a bad card. I'm going to get a replacement in a few days, so I'll update with what I find

I also have a 1gb memory card. I got it on ebay for $65 Works great... oh yes.. slider remix on alltel

Posted by: minister_bob

I got a SanDisk 1 GB TransFlash card (about 60 bucks at Frys Electronics, +$20 rebate!) and popped it in my Remix (Alltel) and it seems to work just fine. Hooray for lots of storage! On an aside...anyone else who bought their Remix from Alltel...what size memory card did they give you with it? Mine had a 16MB, but I've heard some came with 256 MB. Just curious.

Bob, mine also came with a 16MB card. Alltel didn't include the Mobile PhoneTools CD with the package, which made me mad, because I see that other carriers often include it. But then I found it on the web and downloaded it so I'm less unhappy now.

BTW, Bob, I sent you a PM. Please check it and get back to me. Thanks.

Mobile Phone Tools is great for syncing up contact information. If you'd rather put your contacts into your computer and then transfer them to the phone (rather than entering contacts directly into the phone which can be a pain), MPT is the way to go. It has its own phonebook, so you can either enter your contacts there, or else enter them in Outlook. You can sync up your KX5 with either of those, or really any contact manager on your PC that can export to a file.

Mobile Phone Tools also advertises itself as something you can use to edit your MP3s into ringtones. But so far I haven't had any luck with it. It doesn't "see" my MP3s. MPT also has an image editing function where you can create your own wallpapers, and a video editing function for doing your own videos and transferring them to the phone. But I haven't messed with that yet. From what I've read, you can take any video that is in *.3gp format and move it to your phone. Full-length movies or TV episodes. This is feasible when you get the 1GB memory card.

To get the MPT software, do a keyword search on "mobile phone tools" or "MPT". Someone posted the other day that they were hosting the MPT software somewhere and they gave a link. I'm too lazy to look for it, LOL.

Make mono mp3 clips in almost any bit rate... it has to be mono though and any length. Before putting the ringers on the phone, rename the .mp3 extension on the file to .mid then transfer to the phone. Now try.

Posted by: LeoDude

Actually, all you have to do is rename the mp3 to a mid. Of course, its a good idea to edit to the best/loudest/most ringtone-like part. Whats the point of a ringtone where all you here is intro?

yeah i havent tried a card any bigger than the 512 but i dont see how its possible that if a card is to big it can not use there all the same memory just bigger and i think at the time the kx5 came out they only had out 512's now i seen on the internet only a 2gig microsd so it would be sweet if that worked becuz thats a lot of mem

Posted by: buckguin

I saw the 2 gig one and couldnt believe that.. Could you imagine having 2 gig of memory on a cell phone.. That would be awesome but I dont think I want to drop that much money for phone memory...lol

Whats the best deals you guys have got on the 1 gig.. Is there a place online where I can get it cheaper then at like circuit city??

I got mine off eBay. I just bought it at the "Buy It Now" price of $39.99 plus I think the shipping and handling was another $12.99 or so. I don't know how much it goes for at Circuit City. If you can get it for $49 or less, you should probably do it, since you won't have to pay shipping.
