I have the 2125 and an HP IPAQ 2215 (WM 2003 not SE). I'm trying to use the 2125 as a DUN modem for my ipaq but I can't get it to work.

The dialing portion works, the pda connects to the phone but I can't access the internet. I've checked my connection settings on the PDA. I use the same settings on my laptop and use my Phone as DUN and it works there.

I've used Cambridge VXutil and it shows that my 2215 does get an IP, gateway and dns after connecting. Definately not a self configured 192.x.x.x address. I've used these settings with my V551 with no issues.

These are the settings:

Phone #: *99#
Extra Settings: +cgdcont=1,"IP","wap.cingular"
(On the laptop is use AT+cgd...)

User id: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM

PASSWORD: CINGULAR1

I've tried different variations of caps usage, isp vs wap and nothing, nada no good.

I have the medianet unlimited plan. A friend of mine has an ipaq 1945 and the Audiovoxx SMT5600 and he used the same settings successfully. He also has MediaNet unlimited.

Does the 2125 prevent a pda from tethering?

Has anyone tried? I get most of what I need through the phone. But sometimes I want to write a larger email and type it up on my pda but then I have no way of sending it since I can't get this to work.

Any info would be appreciated.

The Cingular tethering instruction site for the 2125 does not list any PDA's for connection, just laptops. https://onlinecare.cingular.com/dev...ular&model=2125 Most phones list PDA as well as laptop instructions. You may be right that the 2125 is not capable of tethering to a PDA.

Thanks, for the reply. I saw that too, I didn't completely trust it as Cingular is not the most reliable source of info on compatibility.
I can't figure on a technical reason. In the end it should be up to the BT profile. But, there must be more to it.
