Im thinking of getting a v3i and am curious where is the sd slot on the phone? I havent been able to spot it in the few pics Ive seen so far.

Also, is the mp camera the main feature the v31 has over the l7?

Under the battery cover next to the sim card. I don't have an L7 (YET) so I couldn't say.

Hmmm thats what I was guessing. So you have to take the back of the phone off and remove the battery to swap the tf card. Durn. I still want one

The L7 has the slot on the side of the phone. No need to remove the battery cover.

There is a rubber cover over the slot. You just pop that open, slide the TF card in and you are set!

How often do people change their SD cards? I haven't touched mine since I put in my 512MB card...

True but I like things to be hot swappable. Clearly on the v3i it isnt. Again, not a huge deal but Id prefer it setup like the l7.

I think so. The only main feature I can think of. Not sure if the L7 is using Sharp manufactured screen instead of the old Toshiba screen. The Sharp screens are a lot better than the Toshibas. You can look at the comparison at Mobile Review.

it is hotswapable. you just need a pin or something to pull it out. the tf card comes out at right angels to the battery insertion angle... however they put this little lip to keep the card in which makes it virtually impossible to do w/o something small to help pull it out... maybe if you had nails you can do it more easily. but personally the thing is so dam small i wouldn't take it out unless iam at home and have its case to put it in

You don't have to take the battery out to get the card out of the V3i. You do have to pop the battery cover off. On the L7 like stated above, it is on the bottom right hand side of the phone and is impossible to get out unless you poke something with a sharp edge at it.

It is definitely hot swapable.
It is easy to remove - gentle downforce and it slides out easily.
With the (supplied) SD adaptor it makes for a fast transfer for files to/from PC.
I have transferred 1 hr recorded TV programs (converted to 3gp format) to view on phone. Much faster than with MPT, and phone is still on.

agreed... going through the phone is pathetic, usb 1 speed or less
