Is your P800 flip a little wobbly?

Now, I am not sure if something just changed, or it was always like this. The flip, when open, is a bit wobbly (actually a little more than a bit, but not too terrible). I thought before it was tight. I hope something didn't slip. I already took off the flip, and put it back on, but still a little loose when opened.

Is yours?

Mine is still pretty stable when open.

YES. The P800-flip is really poorly designed.

Damn, then something changed in mine. I didn't do anything in particular, just the internal sppring or something gave out slightly. Doesn't affect much, just bothers me a bit. I guess this is somehting that some of us may experience.

Unfortunately, getting a new flip so immediately won't be so easy.

Maybe I shouldn't have asked this question. Now I feel bad.

Ignorance really is bliss ....

Anyone want to trade a slightly wobbly flip and $50 for a tight one ????

i never messed with taking it off, and i really do find it kinda sturdy, maybe in a month or so you'll be able to send it to SE in minn, if it bothers ya too much

I imagine I will be able to cop one off a dummy unit somewhere before SE in USA will have one. There is a dummy unit already in the front window at the Sony Style Store in NY on 56th and Madison. Now if I could figure out a good excuse to have them show it to me. Being that they don't actually sell the phone there, looking at a dummy unit is pointless.

It's not too bad, just wobbles a little when opened.

mine is a little wobbly and I never took the flip off, what i dont like however is the battery cover feels like it is going to break when you grip the phone as it doesnt sit against the battery completely when the cover is on.

Yes, but there should be a little black spongy ring on the inside back, which sort of should absorb any space shock between the back and the battery. Is yours there?

The P800 in Sony Style on Madison avenue has a neat screen. It's one of those holographic things. They may start carrying the P800 if the marketing numbers are good. I think it would be in their favor to sell the P800 in the store. I had a small demo of the P800 in their store around a month ago. They loved it.

On a separate note, the flip doesn't wobble on my unit. I have attached it and detached it multiple times already and it still works like a charm. I wish it was a slide instead of a flip. The slide seems to fare much better in heavy usage circumstances.

Totally agree with you on that! Feels as if I am gonna break or crack the cover...and yes, the little black spongy ring IS on the inside lower back cover. It wouldn't absorb much of an impact since it is about the size of a dime.

On the other hand, a little play is good in the event it falls. If it's too tight, it is more prone to crack.

Just a little play on my P800 flip...Its a new one I got today so no worries Jeff...I think they are all like that...
