flash startac with bmw firmware-possible?

hi all, i'm looking into buying a startac 8600 and getting it flashed with bmw firmware so it will work with the carkit originally intended for a startac/timeport on cdma. the car is a 97 540i 6 speed with the premium package
what would i need to do to make this work?
