v3 outer LCD Display Dead?

I have have done some modding to my v3 ; 9 meg of memory, new flash and flex. but recently my phone outer display has just stopped working. the screen is blank all the time and it doesnt show caller id or new txt messages.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
