Issue with keyboard

My Treo 650 has a keyboard with am L key that doesn't really move when depressed. It's strange and the keys directly around it don't move very well either, but aren't as bad. I was wondering if anyone knew any way to fix this problem.

So I guess I'm out of luck huh.

That happens when you apply too much pressure to the keys for a long time... Like in while in a purse, bag, briefcase, drawer, etc...

You know? the keys work by a mechanism that has a metal dome-like platter that sits just above the keyboard contact circuit board, and when you press a key, the key presses that dome-shaped platter (actually flattens the dome) that in turn closes the circuit that sends the key signal. When you release the key, the metal patter returns to it's shape.

I managed to save one of my Treos 650. It had a stuck right shift key. So I opened the Treo 650 (it didn't had warranty) and managed to peel a plastic film that keeps the metal contact platters in place and found the problem key's platter to be really FLAT! so I proceeded to bend the metal platter (really careful) to create a somewhat dome-like shape again.

Here's some pictures of the procedure (hosted on my site).

You know? IT WORKED!!!

The only problem is that the clicking feel (or key travel) does not recover, but at least the key works again.

Or you can simply purchase a new keyboard and replace it yourself... Here

Best regards,
Rayan
