After 4-5 days with the L7, i picked up the 2125 at a cingular store this evening (much harder to do that I anticipated, but we got it all worked out).
As i posted in the SLVR thread, coming from an Audiovox 5600, my first impression when i turned on the phone was 'Meh'. Tonight when i first turned on the 2125, the first thing i thought was "Wow, now THIS is an upgrade"
The SLVR was ok, it just never grew on me. The only thing it has going for it is a small form factor, but there were too many things that bugged me about it. Buttons were too small (i.e. had to use my nails) and impossible to dial w/o looking at them, and while reception was better than my 5600, it was still not impressive (i dropped 3 calls today alone). Also, the dang thing was slow as hell while playing anything in iTunes, even browsing other music while playing a song.
The straw that broke the camels back was that the phone froze up on me twice since i got it last friday (once while i was IN the cingular store asking about the 2125, maybe it jealous). Screen would turn bright white and stay that way for 10-15 seconds, then it would come back to the homescreen and the info at the top would slowly "load". Now i expect a WM phone to freeze like that, but not a watered down (read: Bland) OS like Moto.
The 2125 is the phone i should have bought, not the L7. The screen is AMAZING, and i should have listened to the rest of you, the SLVR was too much of a step down and not a step up. Maybe if the SLVR drops in price on eBay, i'll pick it up as a weekend phone, but for $199 i honestly expected more. Cool looks, overall 'Meh'.

I bought a SLVR for my wife. She doesn't care about much other than good battery life, screen, and reception. The SLVR has delivered all that, and of course has amazing form factor, build quality, etc. She really likes it. And I suspect for many consumers, this will be the case. But for me, it wouldn't cut it. I've been using the 2125, after using the 5600, and I love the phone. Great screen, great music/video, great contacts/calendar, decent web browsing, and the list goes on. The only thing the SLVR has on the 2125 is form factor, and maybe build quality. And I agree with importluva: one you use a smartphone, it's very difficult to go to a regular phone. But I think Joe Consumer will eat the SLVR up.
