RAZR / V3i Call Filtering

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Is it possible to filter incoming calls on any of the V3 models ? Either using built in software or 3rd party software ?

I mean that certain entries in your contacts should not make the phone ring, but the rest act normally ?

Thanks

Set the caller's ID to silent is the best you can do.

what he said ^^^^^^^^^

so you can set a specific ringtone for individual callers ? i.e. I can set certain callers only to slient ringing ? that's a start at least. what about unknown and witheld callers ? is it possible to define them ?

Just trying to get this Q answered before I order.

Can you set individual ringtones per contact ?? So I could set certain peoples ringtones to Silent and the phone would not ring if they called ??

What about Withheld/Unavailable numbers ??

Lastly, does the ring option override the profile ? So could I have the phone on Silent and have it ring only for certain people ?

Thanks...

you can set call restrictions to only allow numbers in your phone book or to block all calls.

oh really, that would be great. so white list on phonebook entries, and that would stop all blocked/withheld numbers ? fantastic. thanks.

You can also create a phone book entry named "Private", in the number field put only a pause, and set it's ringtone to silent. That way, if you get a call from someone who has blocked caller id, it will not ring.

Great tips thanks. Have ordered a V3i last night so hopefully it'll be here by the weekend and I can try out the advice.

someone accused of "advertising" earlier in this thread ! wanted to be certain of what I was getting, and also needed shipping to the U.K.
