v360 phonebook question

I just got my v360 yesterday and have been playing around with it a bit. I have a question about the phone book. Is there a way to store two numbers for one contact without having that contact show up twice in the phone book? On my old 715, if a contact had more than one number, when selected, it would then prompt for which number you wanted to call.

Does or can the Motorola operate this way?

thanks

Go into 'Phonebook'>Press Menu Key>Scroll to Setup>View:Primary Contacts. Then just set which number you want for each contact to show as primary.

How do I set the primary number for a contact? I changed the View to show Primary Contacts, but I still have contacts listed more than once. Do the numbers have to be stored on the phone or sim or does that even matter?

Sounds like you have contacts stored in the phonebook and on the SIM. You have two options: Either delete all SIM contacts or assign your phonebook entries to a 'Category' other than 'General' (SIM contacts are stored under 'General'). Then in the phonebook menu select to view only the category you assigned them to.

OK, I see now. I have to store my contacts on my phone instead of the sim. I guess I'll have to back up all my contacts to my computer. I store all contacts on my sim so I can switch phones without having to re-create my massive phone book.

that's the overhead problem with moto phones. You have to have dual entries or multiple entries for the same person whereas other phones will allow you to assign multiple numbers to just 1 contact.
