hotsync problems

how come when i do a hotsync...the first time it works, and when i come to do it again my palm says theres a problem and it cannot connect???? what can i do about this, i've restarted my computer but nothing, i've tried it with my hotsync manager open and closed also my palm desktop too

What about unpluging and plugging back the cable. And rebooting Treo.

Try clicking once on the hotsync icon in the system tray. Make sure there is a check by 'local USB'. Then click exit & restart the HS manager. That always worked for me.

Option 2 if that fails- get back to the HS menu, and click 'setup'. Click the 'local' tab and check to see if it's setup for the correct COM port. If you don't know which COM port it's supposed to be on, try all of them. Try HS'ing on each port until you get the right one.

under setup it says COM3 but there is no other option....its still not working!!! this is so fraustrating...any suggestions?

Hmmm hmmm hmmm.....

Try uninstalling & reinstalling the entire Palm Desktop.

Other than that the only thing I can think of would be a bad USB port or cable.

okay got it going...i have no idea what happened to it...i'm thinking it was the connection to the phone...cause i messed with it a little now it works all the time, well thanks for the info guys...lemme see if i can replace it...thanks again
