Who do u think will win racing a Toyota Camary 2000 or Ford Explorer I think its like 99

Posted by: TheRupp

Does the Camry have the 4 cyl or the V6? Is the Explorer a V8 or a V6? What kind of racing is this?

Posted by: dynamo768

Camry has 4 cyl...Explorer is V6

Lol, you're scared that your buddy might beat you in a race or something?

Hmm explorer might have a good chance, car-stats.com says 16-17 seconds for an explorer, 4 cyl camry looks to be in the mid to high 17's.

If you guys are just wondering than thats cool but please do us the favor of not being the next "Breaking News" story of street racing accidents.

Probably bc he says he can be a camry anytime..so I was jw

Wow I looked up a 2000 Explorer Limited & Eddie Bauer and I see that they have 210hp/240tq out of 4.0L and 6 cylinders... not bad for a Ford (non-V8) engine. However, the non Limited models had 160 hp/225 tq. Not impressive.

The Camry has a 136hp/150tq 4 cylinder (which isn't really impressive either), so it'll probably be close but I'd honestly have to pick the Explorer on this one with the extra torque and power, and only about 700 lbs separating the two (Camry weighs in at 3131, Explorer 3875).

explore will prob get it cuase of grip and power tho camry has less weight it can overcome the explore's torque

Not nearly enough to make a difference. The Explorer is light for its size, the Camry is VERY heavy for its size. The Explorer also has a significant torque advantage, so I'm still going Explorer on this one, surprisingly enough

is this on road or off?
is it just a straight drag or would there be turns?

Posted by: dynamo768

lol but I bet Explorer can't go 65MPH in a curve

Exploder > Camry. But I love SUVs.

id go with camry..but it depends on alot of things..like if one is manual and of course the driver i can make my 96 Prizm (work car) do some pretty good things for a geo using the Low gears

probably da explorer..2000 camry 4z r SLOOOOOOW...as i owned a 97 camry 4..2.2L vs a wat?..3.0L?..explorer..V6 usually 4z..assuming da 4 is a naturally aspirated..(ie no turboz)..or 4z that arent like da RSX's..2.0L with 210HP

meant "..V6 usually BEAT 4z.."

Ha ha I see you're on TN as well

The new 2AZ-FE in the gen 5 Camrys aren't too bad! Coming from a 1MZ-FE, I thought it would be hell..but it's not too bad. I love the good gas mileage!

when i get a family

HA HA yeah yeah..never ending jokes. If I feel the 'NEED FOR SPEED' then I'll hop in my friend's g-ma's 280HP Avalon and go for a ride . Man that thing has power! I'd love to go up against some riced up Civic and smoke it - but alas, not my car so I treat it nicely.
