Yes I know, we've all seen it done on road cars before. A particular BMW M3 comes to mind. But this is a first for a grand prix car. And it looks absolutely stunning. I can't wait to see it in person in June.

Lol, look at those winglet-like things behind the driver's head!

That's quite an agressive front wing!

Oooooohhhhhh!!! Can't wait to see that on the track, but I'm still going for team Ferrari. <1 month until Bahrain!

Is that car for show purposes or did they actually make the car appear chromed without a great deal of added weight?

Looks great!

Will it not be too shiny and affect other drivers on the track? ie. on a sunny day?

Wow that's different. I think the drivers are going to have an advantage with that reflective paint.

Well I hardly believe that will prove to be true. In grand prix racing, drivers are usually only looking up the rear wings/diffusers of other cars. So the bright livery of another car would rarely be a factor.

Couldn't this cause very strange refractions into other drivers eyes?

Well didn't I just answer that? Like I said, if you watch any F1 at all, you will see that the rear diffusers are not painted and are left black. And the main planes on the rear wings are set at a negative angle when viewed from behind. So unless the sun is shinning ground up, there should be no strange refractions coming off them either.

If I was to be worried about that livery being any sort of visual distraction whatsoever, the ones I would be worried about would be the Mclaren drivers themselves, not their rivals. But I doubt the boys in Woking would have such a lack of judgement before implementing it.

Then again, I maybe I was wrong. Perhaps it was the bright reflection of the dessert sun that caused Kimi to crash. Or it could of been all that weight of the chrome that caused the rear wing to collapse.

I think i saw that on pimp my ride.......
