Motorola Phone Tools 3.23 is not recognizing my v300, I've had this problem before and managed to fix it each time but this time is different I had posted something similar to this topic a while back and now I'm left with the almost the same problem, here it is:
I have Windows XP SP2 installed, (I thought I had it installed before but it turns out I didn't have it on that particular hd but on my slave dr and it was seeing it but it was not actually sp2)
and I have Motorola Phone Tools, I went to ebay and found a newer version and I got it today, so now I'm trying to connect my v300 and when I installed it XP found this: PCI-simple to something, Motrola USB Modem, Motorola V300, and finally this ESS-something-Data Fax Modem, I have the newest drivers as far as I know, and after I install I use these drivers and MPT turns the phone into my phone but then it asks me for the detect.inf file and if I use the one from mpt it changes the phone to some generic usb modem, how can I fix this?
also I installed the moto driver tool and installed it still got no results.

You are going to need to update the software, to the lastest version.
