huge writing problem with 8100 through bitpim

huge problem, my entire phonebook has been eased. i have it saved on bitpim, but it will not write to the phone. it will read fine and i know its the correct port. i am using bluetooth. i have done this many times and for lack of an obvious reason, it is not working. if anyone has any ideas please let me know. i am using the latest version of bitpim and version 7 on my 8100. when i ask it to write, the bottom status bar reads "scanning yyyyyyy." also i have about 300 contacts.

nevermind. i looked in the log and it said "the phone is lying about the number of entries", so i erased my call history, all that stuff, tried again, nothing. tried to get phone data and it gave me one blank entry. so i added one contact manually (through the phone), tried again and it worked. that was scary.
