ok so here is the problem wich kinda differs from anything i have read in the forums >.< i just bought my 703SH in HK and it apparently is flashed with Taiwan Firmware so i haven't had any luck with the AAC trick and i am wondering if anyone has had the same problem and gotten around it any help would be great thanks

i bought the 703 for my gf and it has the euro. fw. from what i know the 703 doesnt take mp3 as ringtones you'll have to use mmf or mid.

or maybe protected mp3s.... but not 100% sure on that ( kinda like the 902 )

you would need to get it flashed to Euro for the 703 to play mp3s.. and i think HK plays it too. will someone confirm that for me.

SOLUTION: make MA-3 mmf file

use WSD from yamaha (u can find the link in the sharp forum somewhere)
drag and drop your wav file...
change settings to 16000Hz and mono
save as... ___.mmf

SD card reader..
drag and drop to "ringtones and sounds" folder
import to phone..
DONE !

NOTE:
like 903sh
<300kb and <30sec rule applies

**i got my gf a 703sh this week... couldnt' figure out why the MA-5 ringtone form my 903 wouldn't work.. MA-3 was the reason..
i dont' know what f/w she is using... but perhaps is t/w since there is trad. and simplified..

timsta's rite my euro version does play mp3 so does my friend's hk version however not for ringtones use mmf as said by P5010

i tried doing this, but the program said that it was an illegal file. i had downloaded the song off limewire, then cutted it to make my ringtone and exported as a wave file and when i tried to open it with the program, it said that i couldn't... does it mean that i have to buy the song or that i can't cut it myself?
