Snapsync and Sanyo 4900

I recently purchased the USB Data cable for the Sanyo 4900 and downloaded the most current version of Snapsync software. Here is my problem - Everytime I try to launch Snapsync, it reads my phone fine, but then shuts the phone down as well as Snapsync. I have yet to be able to get into the Snapsync program.
I have read through the forums for a fix to this problem and have yet to find one. I first thought it might be a conflict with Activesync, so I closed that program. I have tried quite a few other items, but to no avail. I am running Windows 2000 and Outlook XP 2002. It seems to close each time it tries to access Outlook.
Any suggestions???
By the way, I am able to use SnapMedia with no problem.

I would check the futuredial site for software udates and troubleshooting tips:

I have gone through everything futuredial has documented. Nothing has solved my problem.
I also tried the software at home and no luck. I have tried with and without setting the phone to PC Mode. Is there anything else to set on the phone??
HELP!!!!!

Yes, everything is updated. I just sent an email to Futuredial, but who knows when they will respond.
Does anyone use snapsync along side Activesync??

I have had the same phone shutdown "problem" with Win 2000 and the latest versions of ContactSync and SnapSync software and also Snap Media. From other posts, it appears I am not alone.
Snap Media has a workaround in that there is a prompt for "Read Contacts from phone". If No is selected, the phone does not shut down and pictures/ringers can then be uploaded to the phone. The phone then proceeds to shut down and restart after the download is complete, as prompted by the software. This makes the upload a one time shot, since the PC must be rebooted to reload the Sanyo USB driver.
The phone has two indications, depending on what screen the phone is on when it is read by Contact/SnapSync. If it is in the PC Sync Mode (in the Tools/Extras menu), the phone indicates download complete, then proceeds to power down and restart. If the phone is on any other screen, the "Service Required. Contact 1-888-211-4727 for assistance" message is displayed and then the phone powers down and restarts. Phone data is successfully read in both cases with snapsync/sync media, since entries are correctly displayed in the phone list table.
The main problem seems to be that Win 2000 does not re-install the USB driver for the phone (dreaded Code 31, can't load the driver) unless the PC is actually rebooted with the phone connected and powered up . This makes it impossible to use snapsync or syncmedia, since there is no option to NOT read contacts from phone, when starting the software. As soon as the phone shuts down and restarts after being read, your dead! The phone info ... software verson display shows 1.056SP. I believe is the latest software version for the phone. I have even had an active call on the phone while trying to sync and it still shuts down in the middle of a call, then restarts.
I have tried all combinations of the USB drivers for Win2k and XP (mdmsanyo.inf, mdmspcssp.inf, Sanyomdm**.inf) and uninstalling/uplugging and reinstalling the drivers with no success. The latest USB drivers I was able to find are dated 7/9/2002 (Version 5.0.2167.1). None are able to reload unless the PC is rebooted. If there were a USB driver for the phone that was truely hot swappable, then the phone power down wouldn't be an issue.
Has any one had success using either snapsync or syncmedia to upload phone lists to the 4900?
If so, what Windows version is being used (Win 95SR2, 98/SE, ME, 2000, XP)?
Does the phone power off and power back up when snapsync/syncmedia starts and reads contacts from the phone? I am assuming this is normal behavior, unless someone has a 4900 that does not do this.
Any updates, workarounds, or insight would be appreciated by many!
