Hi, I can't find the answer to this after searching this site for awhile. I was wondering if its possible to make the phone book display only the contacts in the phone and not show the sim card contacts.
2nd question: How do you assign the phone book position number without overwriting the contact already in that positiion. For instance, on my phone, I copied the sim card to the phone. Now it shows 2 of each contact, one sim and one phone. Then I tried to reassign different people to be positions 2-9 for speed dial, but it overwrites the contacts already in positions 2-9. Is there a way around this?
Thanks!

Unfortunetly I am not giving you an answer here, but it annoys me too. I got a V3x at the weekend and am experiencing the same issues. I just deleted the phone numbers off of my flash card, so the ones from the "phone" are stored. That way a) they are not doubled up in the address book and b) I can have photo caller id.

Ok for the first part I can help. You can set your phone memory contacts to the category "Personal" and set the SIM contacts to "General". I think it's General by default. Then go into the Setup of the Address Book and choose Categories. Then select "Personal". That should set it so you only see those in your Personal list.
Keep in mind that if you reboot your phone, you'll have to set the Address Book to just show the Personal category again because the phone defaults to "All" when powering off and on.
As for the second part of your post, as far as I can tell from reading on multiple forums, there is no way around that. It overwrites and deletes. Wonderful isn't it?
