Well I got The 9800 2 weeks after its release so i know pretty much everything now... My question is how do u save an mp3 playlist to the phone... i tried using the phones playist creator, it said it saved but when it went to that screen the list was empty... ive tried that a few times now still no luck... i also tried bitpim current .8.0.7, my songs all showed from my card with no problem but i tried to create 3 different playlists and none of them saved in bitpim it said it saved but when i wrote the data to the phone it didnt work... i tried the get phone data to see if it worked and the list was blank so now im puzzled... tried verizon they were no help they told me to call lg... called LG same thing no help and they told me to call verizon... so now i dunno what to do... I got all the goodies my own custom ringtones, 6 hours or so of 3gp video, 16 hours of music (burned mp3pro) and a bucnch of pix too all on my 1 GB card... if you can think of anything to try contact my aim name "Mad Baked Yo" ... thank you

haha problem solved... for some reason the phone nor bitpim will write the my_mp3_playlist directory to your mem card youy must do that yourself or it will not work and even using bitpim it said the directory i crwated was invalid but i went back and wrote it with the phone and it worked... i hope this will be a help to anyone in the future

playlists? is that from the software update? the older software version didnt have a playlist features,..also i heard the new software only plays wma files, not mp3..is that true??

no it wont play wma files and im not sure what the extension type is if u must reconvert everything cuz u wanna use the gay *** muzik on demand... verizon said that all files must be recoded to some other format but will play eveything... not worth my time after i spent the time to recode everything to mp3pro to put alot more on my fone... yes the playlist feature is only available with the V2 firmware not the V1 hence why i had my fone flashed yesterday... now my only problem is my fone makin test calls by itself... good reason for all the newbies not to screw around in the service menu... but i want the damn gpsone to work

So to clarify..V2 firmware? is that the new “music on the demand” update? MP3 files work fine on my phone now, I just want to make sure they still work if I update the software cause a Verzion rep told me only wma files were gonna work, I hate those peoples explanations.. Also when I update will my mp3 ringtones transfer as well, I used bitpim to transfer through systemfiles..And one more thing, how does mp3pro put more on ur phone? I also heard there is V3 firmware coming out too, is that another update as well? I want to do an update but I don’t know if my phone/files are better off without doing it..

well the v2 firmware allows for use of mp3 playlists now along with bug fixes and yes with that bull***** music on demand (yea ima pay $4 for one song when i got 16 hours of music on my card
) idiots) i took my card out when the wifey took my fone to get it flashed just in case... i didnt have any problems all myu ringtones stayed and everything was still where it was... well what ur sayin from what verizon said about the wmas, i heard the same thing... but all my mp3s still work... but in the service menu there a setting for MOD or Mp3 or both setting to both just adds a folder for MOD... i think you can only use one or the other not both either MOD or MP3s and if u decide the MOD you need to convert your mp3s to wmas so theyll play cuz like it said its either MOD or MP3s not both (ima stick with my mp3s) well mp3pro is a format nero uses its still .mp3 but its coded at 80 kbps instead of 128 or whatever else and it sounds just as good so most of my full cds on my fone are just like 41 to 45 mb not bad compared to like 75 and im not even kidding it sounds just as good on the fone anyway

The MOD setting is for the VCast Music. The hardware capability is now loaded on to 9800 v2 phones. We just need to wait for the GIN app to be downloaded to the phone for it to work unless a third revision is needed.

well you ya'll seem to know a good amount bout the phone, i do too., just not that clear on v2 fixes.copped mine online and showed Verizon stores it only when they had floor models available at the time..i just got one real quick question with the mp3 playback..on V1, when mp3 where in "3D surround" equalizer and you where in a none service area , can be tested by placing phone in standalone mode and equalizer is in 3D surround, then playing mp3s...anyways when in these settings when playback is loud static ..i heard it had something to do with the music on demand service..the annoying part this not the static, because i can always switch the equalizer, but the mp3 playback is at a lower muffled quality as well on another equalizer setting,ex ‘pop, rock, ect”. This is madd annoying cause I mainly listen to it on the subway, can you tell me if this is one of the bugs fixed on V2. thanks
