p2kman not recognising phone

Hey there all, i have a Motorola E1 ROKR and ive downloaded p2kman to put the ringtones on that i made.
although iTunes recognises the phone is connected and loads up, the other program wont 
it continually says the phone is not connected when i try to do anything.
can anyone offer a suggestion please?
also, what is p2kman capable of doing? can it transfer pictures and stuff off the phone. can i add new wall papers to it?
