well ive tried finding info before posting with this...so this is a last attempt before returning the phone
i am a total noob here, i saw how to get in the service menu, and some how i messed up my WAP
all i get is "contact customer service"
right now wap is the only way i have to get ringtones, my provider doesnt supply them (revol)
at first when it happened i started getting worried that they disabled my web for DLing tones, but that feeling soon passed when i remembered i made them my self,from music i own
i thought it was the DNS settings because these are blank in the menu
but i entered an alternate address, and still nothing
its also strange that my sms's dont even come through, maybe 1/4 incoming or outgoing work

so please if someone knows if it could be something i did, let me know

also while im thinking of it
if anyone has this phone or a similar one,
what all audio formats can i use as a ringtone?
ive tried .qcp but my browser tells me its unsupported file type, so i renamed them to .mid
this lets me DL and save them, but if its used as a ringer, it only sounds through the phone speaker (not the ringer speaker)
mp3's dont work, even renamed to .mid - and the same with .wav

one last question
is there any way to enable my phone to be able to send my ringtones to my other non WAP phone (i can only send pics to it)

hmm no edit function here

ok im almost sure my problem is a DNS problem
i go into browser setup
and change "UP.Link A" & "UP.Link B" to the DNS my pc uses
and i just keep getting "sending........"
no timeout or errors
so if anyone know what these settings should be from my provider (Revol), please let me know

ok i got the web all worked out
it was the dns settings
my carrier gives 10.10.0.97:9201, now all is working

anyone have any info on my other questions i would be so greatful
namely....
what media is supported by this phone?
why do purevoice audio only play from ear speaker, not from extrenal speaker?
any way to enable sending ringtones via messaging without a data cable?

also on Revols site they say my phone is compatable with java, but this is the only place i see this info (so its more than likely wrong)
any info on that?

I'm in the same (revol) boat as you are. So far all i've been able to get to work is midi ringers on my kx 160. Ive tried some java games downloaded from wap and cannot get them to work but this could very easily be something I am doing wrong as i am still fairly stupid when it comes to wap and phones. Which wap site did you use for the purevoice and mp3 ringers?

i made my own with qualcomms purevoice
and uploaded them to my own site

i wish revol would atleast offer brew game to buy
