just wondering if there was a housing of the 8910 that will fit my 8390... I would prefer aluminum instead of plastic, but I haven't seen any of these conversions around. If not, i'm def ok with the 8390 looks, but it might be cool. tia

alright then! now that I know there is demand, I'll make the mold, and you guys contract out a small factory in asia to make them! woohoo!

Are you guys talking about something like this?

I bought this in HK and it fits 8390

like that but 8890 one...oersonally i dont like the clips on the side for that i want that clean look

Posted by: Ryan1524

yep..but with less protruding clip, and better if the construction is titanium..or alum at least... and smooth, slow spring mechanism..

i saw the 8910 conversion plates for 8390 in first markham place...
so i tried it...it's made of plastic, but the paint was of better quality and feels really smooth in my hand...

the clip on the side was replaced by plastic chrome colour buttons like the real 8910, i guess this is a better set, and the keypad were of the same chrome plastic and looks really nice, the lights shone through really nice as in the real 8910...
but the shape was a bit weird looking and made the phone look a bit fat...and the 'nokia' logo on the face was replaced with a crooked '8390' logo printed with cheap white ink...

the slide worked great, but sometimes it's over sensitive and the phone doesn't slide up smoothly but always jumped up...it held he phone nicely thou..no rattling or fear that the phone might get thrown or something...

but i ended up not buying it...

Ebay Had OEM housings...for $170.00 they looked really good..

daydeal has a half of one in plastic...

are the OEM ones auto slide?

the oem one require u to press the 2 side keys so the phone will pop up..(slowwwwwlly...)i still prefer the 7110`s slide..
