I recently acquired a used t28w, The phone seems to be in working condition but it keeps powering off by itself...

Does any 1 know a way areound this problem?

any help is appreciated,

Thanks.

maybe the the voltage of the battery is probably too low, they should be at 3.6V, any lower and the phone woiuld powers itself off all the time

i have this problem too

i need help....

my T28w is in absolute mint condition because it hasnt been used since i switched to rogers...

i started it up a few weeks ago but the phone kept turning off after a few minutes....it does the same thing even when i try to charge it....

is it the battery?

i want to know what's wrong..my t28w has only 1700 flips on it..it's been barely used....

anyways..is it toast? if so, i'll probably part it out because i know there are people who'd love to get hold of my mint T28W housing...

btw, if i sell here are the prices:

*front face w/ flip for less than $20....
*back piece another $20...
*mic $5
*curly mic wire w/ connectors $10
*LCD $15
*slim travel charger $10
*ultra slim li-polymer battery $20
*PCB $20

i'll figure out whether it's the battery or the PCB that's the problem before i ship out those pieces....

i have encountered this problem (power off) with 3 different t28w's within the last 8months. in all cases the handset in question had been "unlocked", this seemed to be the only common trait. all of the batteries were checked for charge (on a "good" t28w-they were all ok) and i also checked to see if handsets would accept power (checked out ok). also it seemed as though the "power offs" would occur at an increasing rate until the phone was essentially dead.
a co-worker of mine bought a new(ish) t39(unlocked) from HK and experienced the same problem. he contacted ericsson and the rep. he spoke to said that supposedly there was a problem with some firmware versions for those particular phones and ericsson replaced the t39 with a t68i.
im not sure the explenation by the rep. is precisely correct but it seems like something on the software/firmware end.
then again im no expert, just some guy who has nothing but free time.
