Black Motorola RAZR Ext Screen Problem...

I have an unlocked black unbranded Motorola Razr with an external screen/ caller ID that has failed completely or sometimes it just shows a partial image.

The outter glass that covers the caller ID is not crack or smashed. It seems like a defective external caller ID lcd. Is there a place where I can send it to get it repaired or get the caller ID replaced? And can I purchase the external LCD screen somewhere and replace it my self. Whats the better option?

cnn.cn is a great source of parts and motomodders.net has an article by
ajay16 in the knowledge base on how to take a V3 apart - it's about the best
I've seen.

the job you're going to have to do is not that difficult, just be careful of the
side button flex (you'll need to take that off your old LCDs), the main flex
connection and the small latch on the camera connector - take your time and
all will be easy :-)

Thank you very much. I think thats the route I'll be taking. Looks simple enough through the disassemble pdf file I found. Thanks again for your help.

be carefull, some motorola razr's had the external sub display fused (soldered) to the main display, meaning it was not seperable. if yours is this, you need a whole new screen, since it comes with a sub display too.
