cingular 8100 availability

there's a good bit of information about the 8125 floating around but not a whole lot about the 8100 (either that or it's hard to find). has *anyone* gotten one of these devices?
i ordered mine at about 10:15am est on feb 6 and got an email saying it was backorder about 2 days later. the gal that emailed me said they have no information on potential device availability. she's supposed to be my account rep so i shot her a few emails earlier this week and i think she's ignoring them since i've gotten no response.
i managed to get a number for web orders to call and i've been calling about every few days and every single time they've had no additional information on availability (i've heard the 20th around here though). one guy even went so far as to say he doesn't know if they'll even be carrying the device (please say it's not true!).
there's a chat system on the premier website my company goes through and every time i ask about availability of the 8100 they either refuse to answer my question or just close the chat session without saying anything. this doesn't bode well for this device.
has anyone else had any similar experiances or have anymore information? it seems to me they never had these devices to begin with...

<rant>i wish cell phone companies would realize there's a growing segment of us that CAN'T HAVE CAMERA PHONES!!!</rant>

i was hoping someone out there would have additional information, but i guess not. at any rate just in case someone else is in the same boat i'm in (still waiting for an 8100 (not 8125)), here's an update:
i just spent 45 minutes getting bounced around all different departments only to end up with the same answer - we don't have any in stock and we don't know when we'll get any in. when i asked the gal on the phone if they ever carried the phone, she said she hadn't seen any.
i swear this is getting so incredibly frustrating. this is how they're treating a potential customer? i've got this little voice in the back of my head to just cut and run but they're the only place that carries this phone (theoretically) in a cameraless version.

me: That's dissappointing - for what it's worth there's a LOT of business customers that can't have a camera phone; why release a business-class phone without having the option?
Brian: this site is mainly for employee personal use devices
Brian: maybe the manufacture may have something to do with it also
me: I'm not about to spend that much money on a phone without being able to bring it into the office. Frankly the camera-less phone selection is the main thing that's kept me from becoming a customer for a while now
Brian: we sell alot of them with the camera
me: Yeah, and unfortunately for a lot of us that's what EVERY company is focusing on...
Brian: not all companies are like that & we have users that need a camera also

Good luck on finding a 8100. I can't even find a regular phone without the useless camera. Carriers really like you to send those blury pictures using MM$. As long as ppl doing that, I don't see how any carrier want to release a cameraless phone.

FINALLY! apparently one hand doesn't know what the other one's doing at cingular (not a big suprise there). i got a tracking number for my phone.
the 8100 still isn't back on my premier page, so i'll believe it when i see it (as opposed to getting an 8125 just for the hell of it). but for what it's worth, it lookslike there's still hope!

It is funny that I put an order on premier site 02/06 for 8100 as a new customer. I has been waiting for over a week and nothing happening so last week I call and CC tell me that they sold out, show no inventory and no plan for bring in extra device due to demand. So I went a head and cancel all my order and close my account with Cingular. Guess what happening today, they told me my order is ship and will be here tomorrow. How much can they screw up my account with this new development? My credit card is charge with the phone and from my past experience with Cingular billing department, it will be a long fight to get this mess clean up.

If you're thinking about buying the 8125 online and going to a Corp store to exchange it for the 8100 (if they have any) then don't bother, you can only return it to Online Sales/B2B. I ordered the 8100 on Feb 6 and changed my order to the 8125 on Feb, 10. After pounding them constantly on that week in regards to the 8100 and received different answers I finally gave up and made the switch. I have the 8125 since I don't work in an enviroment where camera phones are banned, but I am very disappointed in the way Cingular handled the release of the 81xx device.
The 8100 isn't on my Premier page.

yeah, the 8100 isn't on my premier page either - it was only on there for a couple hours on the 6th. jsut for giggles i called the automated order tracking number (1-866-499-8008) and that told me my order was still on backorder. when i tracked my order on the premier website, it said it's waiting to be shipped. on the public order tracking site, it gives me a tracking number (but i can't view the details of my order).
it's supposed to be here tomorrow, so i guess we'll see. i'm actually expecting to open that box and see an 8125 in there anyway.

Yeah I was also suprised when I tried to exchange a premier ordered phone at corp store. They said they have different inventory system than the website.
