hi there..
since I didn't got any help in the Pebl U6 forum (http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...543#post6724543)
I tried myself to get the item IM in my menu...

well.. it went wrong

instead of a menu item called "Multimedia", I got an item "EXTRA", if I select this I get 2 items "IM" and "Multimedia".
This isn't really a problem. but this is:
I cannot ACCES the "Personalise" item in "Settings"!!!
The whole item for Internet Setup has disappeared... I do have "Connectivity" but this only list Bluetooth
I have an item "Quick Menu" in "Tools" that doesn't work, actually I don't know if I had "Quick Menu" before..

I DID backup the mma_dcp and mma_ucp files.
So I deleted the ones on the phone and put these back... no luck!
the Multimedia item is back, (no more "Extra", also no more "IM").
But I still can't acces "Personalise" and still have Quick Menu, also still don't have the item for Internet Setup.

how can I fix this? I never tried firmware upgrading because I thought it was a risk since there is only new firmware for the Motorola V3 and not for the U6 is this correct?
Would a firmware upgrade fix it?

Yes firmwire update would fix this, but its better to try to fix it manually first before automatically flashing it. What do u mean by saying "Can't access" does it kick you out or what happens?. did u delete anything?, any files from skins?. what about main menus?

Yes I'm sorry I was a little fuzzy last night..

At first, I used P2K Tools Version 0.8.6 build 406 by Bezol to enable Java Loader, IM, countdown for SMS and Notify for SMS.
After restart. I could click on "Personalise" but nothing happened..
I tried some more with P2K Tools... trying to redo what I did but it didn't help.
Also I tried with P2K Tools to install 3 games (because 1st time I used internet, I wanted to delete all cache and I deleted all Java items to... so didn't had the 3 games that came with the phone anymore).
although installation went OK, after restart the phone still said "No java midlets installed" if I clicked Games&Apps.

Trying to fix all this, I deleted all java files in the kjava folder on a/ since I thought those were the files P2K Tools copied when trying to install the games.(perhaps I shouldn't have deleted all those files?)

I knew I made a backup of the files mma_ucp and mma_dcp. So I used P2k Commander to delete these files on the phone and put these backupped ones on it..
it didn't change anything!! very strange..

Then I thought I had nothing to loose and I deleted (with P2k Commander) on the phone: mma_dcp, mma_ucp and mma_dyn_index (I copied this last one to pc as backup).
And then it was like this:

it is about 3 items, I do can modify my Internet setup I was wrong about that last night. (forgot that this can be done at 'web sessions'):
- Personalise, I can see it, I can click it but nothing happens if I click it
- Quick Menu (in Tools), idem dito, can click it but nothing happens (I guess Pebl doesn't have Quick menu? but how do I remove the item from Tools then?)
- Instead of an item called "Multimedia" in the menu, I have an item "Extra" wich contains "IM" and "Multimedia" ---> This submenu seems normal but it misses Video Camera, instead it has MotoMixer. So now I can't enable the Video Camera.
And if I click on MotoMixer, nothing happens (perhaps Pebl doesn't have MotoMixer).

I have Flex version: SE5783AXXN1101
S/W version: R478_G_08.83.78R_A1
DSP S/W version: 623E3E00
I have voice activation... I see in the forums they call it ObeyMoto.. I have English French and '205' languages for voicedial.
Also the phone itself has Dutch language (no Dutch voicedial) since I bought it in the Netherlands.

The solution:
Somehow I don't believe it can be that difficult to get Personalise working again... and if QuickMenu & MotoMixer are not installed on the Pebl then it shouldn't be to hard removing these items from their menu's.. but then how to I get VideoCamera back?
As for the games... after all is fixed I'll try installing them using Midway..

OK I have Personolise working again!
I used the same Tools again... tryinh to fix it by deselecting some items.
Now:
Personalise works
Quickmenu is gone
IM is still there

Only thing, I now have 5 items in Multimedia, Motomixer is gone but Video Camera didn't come back... I tried a lot but it doesn't show up in the menu.

Also, it seems impossible to install games on the U6, I have enabled Java loader, and Midway succesfully connects, the phone download the game succesfully, but after that it says "Failed" and something with the file...

has anyone succesfully installed games?
it doesnt work with Tools either.

Also.. I tried 2 skins from motomodders... 1 gave me just Scarlet skin (wich was already installed) and the other one didn't show any skinning after selecting it.. all skinnable items were not skinned..
I assume they were not meant for V3 Razr and therefore won't work on V6..

u can bring back the video recording icon by using p2k menu editor found at motomodders.net u can use the program to put the video recording icon in the multimedia folder) it is a very easy program to use.

For the games, im sure u shouldnt have deleted all the files in the kjava folder, thats why u are unable to upload them back.

Thanks I found that program and will try tomorrow!

About games, I've read in other threads no one has succesfully installed additional games on the U6... is that correct?
also, there are still 2 files in the kjava folder...

uhm, perhaps if anyone could mail or upload the contents of their kjava folder, I could try putting it on my phone and restart... it might work

quickie here - p2kmenu editor doesn't work on the newer phone (U6 included -
I know I tried). The author says it 'cos the file structure is different and that
he's working on a re-write.

P2K Advanced editor does work and could sort out some if not all your menu
issues.
