Anyone else have shoddy speakerphone?

My girlfriend constantly complains that I am cutting out with my Treo. At first I thought it was signal, but it only happens with speakerphone. After some testing with 2 cell phones, it seems that the treo mic will cut off (I guess it uses VOX so it doesn't pick up ambient noise) if my mouth isn't right on the mic whole when speaking. Kind of defeats the purpose of speakerphone if I have to hold the damn thing to my mouth.

Palm is starting to piss me off with shoddy quality. The is my second treo in as many weeks. I got my girlfriend a RAZR, and as much as I got tired of my v600, I am thinking about just returning the damn treo and getting a razr.

BTW, this is with volumecare installed. Tried it with VC on and off. Mic boosted all the way. Also tried a soft reset.

Aw, that's terrible.... lol...

I have never found my Treo/s to be anything but superior quality. Do you have the GSM or CDMA version? Cause there is a difference between the two.

Volumecare might actually be the SOURCE of your problem too. I refuse to install it cause it can blow speakers or otherwise damage them.

its the GSM version.

My VZW T650 speakerphone crackles a bit at a decent Volume, but I attribute that to the boost from VolumeCare.

I pay it no mind as the only time I use speakerphone is when I *228...
