Something random happened to my i860...help.

ok, im new to this nextel forum deal but im desperate. I dont know what else to do and every Sprint store and the nextel care people are giving me the run around. I know there is someone out there whos had the same issue so im here. heres the problem.

I was using my i860 the other night, i was browsing online with it looking for a new wallpaper. I found one, downloaded it. I set it to be my wallpaper, and then my screen went white. It still said nextel, the date and time...then it all of a sudden turned off. I went to turn it back on and now, when it starts, the only thing it says is that white screen with i860 and then it turns off. I paid an arm and a leg for this phone and i dont know what to do. PLEASE any ideas suggestions or if you simply know what to do, i could use the help. IM ME @ heyheyitschrissy. or send me an email at ch3889@ship.edu, im desperate people!

Do you have ESRP/NSP for this phone (this is a service plan/insurance for the phone--its about $3 or $4 a month)? If so, find an authorized service center (ASC) in your area and take it in to have it swapped out. It sounds like your phones operating system/software was fried. There may be a way to attempt to recover it yourself, some of our software experts may be able to help in that department. Hope this helps....

I just bought this phone and the same thing happend to me 2 i was downloading ringers and i got it and then it shut off now when i turn it on it say i860 i need alot of

Sound like the problem, the software got corrupted, try the 860 software upgrade, in revovery mode. Hold the two top key's on the keypad and press power,at the same time, then check the recovery box option on the upgrade, then run the upgrade. Should work, let me know.
