VeriChat using SMS only?

i just got a prepaid sidekick sim which doesn't deduct a dollar a day as long as it is not in a sidekick, but has unlimited sms. verichat can be set to use sms in always online mode, but i can't seem to get it to use ONLY sms

Neither could I. I was trying to get mine to use SMS only and it never worked. I have the $5.99/month Tmobile web plan and it works on that.
I did notice that when trying to setup Verichat, the SMS feature mentioned something about a "backup alternate" for when your data connection goes down. So I don't think that it will work with SMS only.

damnit that really sucks! anyone know any good sms only chat programs besides sms chat 1.2?
