how do i sync the calendar and contacts from my palm desktop instead of the microsft outlook that came on the cd rom?

Depending on the Palm PDA you have:

Put the Palm install CD in. It will start up and there are usually several options to install additional software. One will have sync options. Choose the palm desktop option. This is the easiest way.

Go to the "HotSync" icon. Click on "custom". You can disable the Outlook conduits. Select "Do nothing" then make sure you select them as "default". 80% chance this will work for you.

If you don't have the Install CD. Go to Palm.com. Look it up in the Support forums. That is you best option if you can not figure out how to change the conduits and don't have the install CD.

I would recommend Outlook for Calender/Contacts/Task/Memos. It is actually much better than PalmDesk Top. To each there own.
