returning a phone back to lock/line

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: RGEER

I had to do a warenty exchange on my black v3 and I was wondering do I need to put the old flash back on the phone? If so, where could I find it?

The orginal was:
Flash s/w version:0E.40.9CR
the one I have on it now is the most current one

Thanks,
Ryan

Why would you do that

Posted by: RGEER

o ok so apparently its not required to do so?

Posted by: celltechy

lol no, you void your warranty by flexing and flashing but lockline's purpose is to help you when you screw up your phone- you are good dont worry

Posted by: RGEER

Oh, by the way the agent I sporke to when I exchanged the phone said they send out full kits, is that true? If so what does that mean, I will be getting in the box when UPS brings it to me tommrow?

Thanks, and please respond,
Ryan

Well, that's not true at all when it comes to flexing (not what the insurance is intended for) but his insurance does cover it, so he's fine to send it in as is.

does anyone know the true answer to this?

Just a tip on the side:

If color is of importance to you, make sure that the person you speak with is 100 percent sure they have black v3's in stock. If not, you'll get whatever they have, which is most likely a silver one.

I am pretty sure she was certain, when she processed my order she said, "Mr.Geer, your order is for 1 Motorola V3 RAZR in black" I will find out tomorrow when UPS comes. Ill report back here of what I get.

Does anyone know the answer to my other question I asked before?

Posted by: celltechy

If you get a full kit that is exactly what it sounds like- a full kit. IE: same thing as if you were to buy a razr from the store

Posted by: RGEER

o ok so if that is indeed what I get, will I need to return a full kit back to them?

Posted by: celltechy

Yes sir e (filler)

Posted by: RGEER

what happens if for some reason I get a Silver one?

Posted by: illmatic6688

they don't send out full kits. I've exchanged 2 Razrs and a Nokia 6682 from them. they just send the phone without the battery, backdoor, or any boxes+manuals. just the phone. it's VERY annoying

Posted by: soulvoid

i can tell you that they will NOT send a memory card out with the device.

Posted by: celltechy

#1- You are thinking about XBM. If someone were to lose their phone, lockline would need to send them an entire kit because they wouldnt have their battery or battery door... Therefore you are wrong
#2- A memory card? How did a memory card even get into this thread. The razr doesnt even have a mem card slot lol

Its almost noon and still no UPS driver to drop off the package.

Posted by: RGEER

UPS just came with my package. Its a brand new black V3, in the orginal retail box. Not refurbed. I contacted lock/line and they said all they want is the bare phone back, is that correct? or should I send everything back?

Posted by: matlock_1

Send them what they asked for.

Posted by: RGEER

oh ok but Ive heard from a poster then want the whole thing, then I called them, 1 time they said phone battery, battery cover, and one agent said just the bare phone, im really unsure what to do

Posted by: jojo26

I also received a phone with charger, battery, back, and manual last week. Don't know if I have to send back same. Mine was not XBM per se but they had transferred me to Lockline.

Posted by: RGEER

This new one is still making that buzzing noise, and now this one the reception is crap, and it drops calls, I called them last night and explained it and they will be sending me out another phone, but they said it takes 2-3 bussines days versus the 1-2 for this one anyone know why this is? I hope this is not going to be another v551 saga with exchagning it a bunch of times. If I have to exchange this one there giveing me I will not be a happy camper. Does lock/line give different models out after 3 exchanges? Does anyone know what they would give for a RAZR?

Real funny, lol. I was serious though.

Posted by: RGEER

so yea Im mailing the phone back to them, im just sending the bare phone like the first agent I talked to said. And yes when I called to do the other replacement he said they send out full kits always.

Posted by: illmatic6688

how are you guys getting full kits? is this the same thing as the cingular warranty exchange?for every phone iv'e ever had replaced, i just get the bare phone, no battery, box, battery door or manuals. and iv'e exchanged 3 Razr's so far, and a Nokia 6682.

Posted by: cingtd

I had two Lockline replacements and neither one was a full kit. Just phone, SIM, battery for lost phones. Never questioned it, I would only expect a full kit if I was getting a completely different handset, already had a charger and a manual for the phone that was replaced.

Posted by: RGEER

Got my 2nd replacement phone today, only they gave me a brand new full kit silver razr. Why is that? This is anoying. What should I do now?

Edit: 8:19PM- tried the phone, same damn wistle in the ear peice and the buzzing on the keypad(this is something all of them do I kno). This is really unacceptable.

Tomorrow im calling lock/line again.

Posted by: RGEER

ok, I called lock/line again they are sending me another replacement phone so far this is my 3rd razr within a week, this is getting to be anoying. Does anyone know if they would replace the razr with another model?

Thanks,
Ryan
