HELP!!! V220 problems "Is it my phone or Cellular One?"

OK well my g/f and I both have cell phones from Cellular One their both Motorola V220. The only way she can talk on her's is speaker phone if ya take it off speaker then you cant hear nothing. SO it's getting sent back to get fixed, ok mine on the other hand has full signal tilli open flip top and then it goes down a couple bars, then i dial number and get called failed. I asked cellular one what the problem is they said it's electrical.
Ok another question, I have to go atleast 2 miles down the road into town to even attempt to make a phone call, and then their's other ppl driving up my road talking on same kind of cell phone we got. my g/f's signal is purdy *****ty also.
Any help would be appreciated.
